Follow suggestions for practice: Flow of English - Learner V 3.0 builds on the foundation created by Flow of English - Beginner. It is designed as suitable for use by children of age between 8 to 12 years. The stages 1 to 5 tabs can be used in any order depending upon the child’s skill. Within a stage, different themes are listed in a progressive manner.
However, a child may progress with learning pages marked for higher level, depending upon the child's normal interest and comprehension abilities. A word of caution though - don't - push the child to progress fast, unduly. If not ready, the child will lose interest. Look for signs of natural interest and support the child to progress normally. Flow of English is designed to encourage children to progress fast - on their own will and at their own pace. Similarly, children of higher age who are not conversant with the fundamentals should progress practising repetitively with pages marked for lower stage which would help them comprehend higher stage content easily.
Start with the Words: Words become phrases; phrases become sentences; sentences become passages and stories; Children begin to learn by hearing and seeing. Flow of English brings back this age old custom of learning spelling both by seeing and learning, and by listening and spelling that allows a child to develop the ability to write a word in the manner it is pronounced.
Practice leads to perfection: Flow of English is essentially a product for practice. To achieve proficiency, the child should practise repetitively. Every word across the sections is read with accurate pronunciation. Children should practise pronunciation by clicking on the words repetitively for listening attentively and pronouncing it similarly. They should learn the spelling and improve their vocabulary as they practice with the words section.
Guide the child about proper use: Flow of English is developed as suitable for self learning. Nevertheless, we recommend parents to guide and monitor until the child can practise as per the voice instruction without mistakes, particularly if the Flow of English is not used as medium of instruction at school.
Navigation: Show the child the way to navigate through Flow of English and be prepared to be surprised! Children adapt to technology very fast. As they practise, they will master the art of working through the simple navigation links.
LSR skills: Flow of English is a comprehensive training product which, upon regular practice, inculcates admirable LSRW (Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing) skills in the child. Ideally, the child should first practise listening attentively to the voice embedded in the pages. While practising, ask the child to observe and understand from the pictures also, duly relating to the corresponding text. This practice helps to enhance the comprehension ability of the child. Gradually, ask the child to read correctly. Repeat the process until the child is able to read flawlessly and fluently.
Practise progressively: Practise with Flow of English in the order it is presented across the sections. Within each section themes are arranged for progressive learning. Follow the level stipulations and move to practising with the next set and next level only after the child gains a good understanding of lower levels.
Reinforce learning: Tests in each section are automatically assessed, timed, announced and counted on every answer. Motivate the child to take the test again only after reading the section content all over again till full marks are scored. Ask the child to take the test again after couple of weeks until the child can do that section correctly and impressively. Ask the child to read the content all over again, many times over, in time, for reinforced learning and exceptional language skills.
